Well, it was a big gap between last posts and here it is a much longer gap, even.  We haven't really been keeping up with our website or performing, which isn't good in this techno age, but our excuse stays the same, 4 kids and a job.  This is a big ranch that has kept Michael very busy and so we don't have much time to run around performing.

The kids will go with us to the Texas Cowboy Poetry Gathering this spring.  We decided to make it a family trip and head down to Big Bend National Park afterwards.  When we get back, Michael will dive in and not come up for air until mid summer, so we'll take it.

We also need to record, but once again, same excuse, with the added, kids cost a lot and recording does, too.  We bought a more simple recording "studio" for Christmas, so we can try to get some tracks down and get a start, but we haven't even turned it on yet.
Michael does have some good songs that need to be recorded, so.....I don't know.  It's sometimes all a little blurry lately, time.

I have been practicing guitar with the kids lately.  I guess I'll try to take the plunge and start to perform some with it.  I have just been a bit intimidated and nervous about it, but it would add a lot to our performances.  I never know what to do with my hands if I'm not holding the microphone.    Maybe I'd be taken more seriously, too.

Don't know if anyone ever reads this, but there it is.  Maybe it won't be so long next time....

      Hi Dawn,

Yes, I do check your blog, and I'm so glad you posted! I hope you dive right in with the guitar so we can hear more of your recordings someday soon.

We are just home from a week at Disney. That is so not our life down there! We had fabulous weather (75 and sunny most days) and did four days of theme parks. Jeff and I think the kids were just the right ages to go - 5 and 8.

The Give Kids the World village was really unbelievable - they thought of everything to make our stay as easy as possible. We had every meal available at an on-site restaurant - or they delivered the food to our villa. Wow!

It is quite humbling to think of all the donations that contributed to our week there, as well as those weeks of all the other families.

Alright, I'd better close here. Check Spencer's page for photos of our trip soon.

      Take care,
      Laurie
